The items we sell and the things we promote are those which have added art and joy to our life: such as quality South American imports, yerba mate tea, hand-wrought iron work, arrowheads--or items of our own family's craftsmanship such as jewelry, games, knives, tipis, buckskin, and beadwork--and other trade goods acquired and worked locally.
We feel we are carrying on in the spirit of the old Western traders... even though some of our pursuits may be anything but old-fashioned!

It all started with straw bale construction; it's the "body" of our business (and our 1-1/2-ft. thick walls make a great tea storage facility). If you have straw on the mind feel free to peruse the pages and inquire or suggest.
Our newest product line comes to us from a rendezvous friend: Pawnee. His ironwork is made for a tipi life; made for a rendezvous life; made for a life that meanders in and out between now and the 1800's and the 1500's; made for rennaissance people... and that could be you too!
Art and craft surrounds us no matter where we go--but there aren't always many good ways artisans can show their work or receive feedback on it. It has always been our goal to be a unique outlet for local talent. I wish I knapped as well as our friend Russ Ivey... but I tried it enough to know he is as good as everyone says he is. We are proud to display his obsidian points for the world to see. "AA" (two arrowheads a day) keeps him out of trouble. Hey Russ!

Tipis are the best thing to be in when you're on the move (and not in a straw bale sanctuary). The "traditional" designs we offer (with many options) are one of the best sewn tipis on the market. Choose your tipi size, details, and price range. Any size, any style--always well sewn; stitching guaranteed.
Buckskin and beadwork, knife-making and costume design, rendezvous gatherings and wood craft are all things we do ourselves. New beadwork items on our page! We send out great thanks, as we pursue these interests, to all peoples who ever loved the earth and saw the beauty in it--we dedicate our art to you.
The ironwood for our knives comes from the deserts of Mexico, the knife sheaths are hand stitched or tooled ourselves, and the hides for our beading we either tan ourselves, buy commercially, or trade from friends locally who make the best of the best "brain-tanned."
We do costume and clothing work for others ("unnamably" several West coast performers) as well as special order for rendezvous clients. Please be very specific about your desires if you wish to inquire and we will let you know what we can do for you. (Pricing is not cheap and the work is not slack!)
You may find the pursuit of the I-Ching divination an odd item... but even Carl Jung saw the "gestalt" benefit of using it's humble yarrow sticks for divining the "way". A modern day person just might be wise to pay attention to some Confuscian wisdom once in a while!
